I am getting an error for Invalid Account. How do I fix it?

What this error means

“Invalid Account” usually means:
➤ The platform cannot recognize your login details.


Step 1: Check login details

Make sure you entered correctly:

  • Account Number (Login)
  • Password

⚠️ Common mistakes:

  • Extra spaces when copying/pasting
  • Using the investor (read-only) password instead of the main password

Step 2: Verify server

Ensure you selected the correct server.

This is the most common issue.

Fix:

  • Go to login again
  • Open the server dropdown
  • Select the exact server provided

Step 3: Check account status

Your account may:

  • Not be activated yet
  • Be expired or disabled

If you just purchased or passed:

  • Wait for processing time to complete

Step 4: Re-login manually

  • Go to: File → Login to Trade Account
  • Re-enter all details manually (avoid autofill)

Step 5: Restart platform

  • Close MetaTrader
  • Reopen and try again

Step 6: Check platform type

Make sure you are using the correct platform:

  • MT4 account → use MT4
  • MT5 account → use MT5

⚠️ MT4 logins do NOT work on MT5 and vice versa.
